WORK EXPERIENCE

Stewart Marine Design is committed to the professional development of future naval architects and marine surveyors for the marine industry. To achieve this aim, we regularly provide work experience to final year undergraduates from around the world in naval architecture and marine engineering.

Work experience is available to students from any country who are studying naval architecture and marine engineering, however preference is given to Australian students . As well as Australian students, we have provided work experience to students from the UK, USA, Canada, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Turkey and SE Asia.

We only provide work experience to one student at a time and the period generally lasts for one to three months (normally about two months). We are unable to provide financial assistance to meet travel costs to and from Cairns, Australia.
To be eligible for a work experience position, you must-
If you do not meet all of the above requirements, your application will be ignored.

Applications for work experience must be submitted at least four months in advance of the start of the required work experience period. If you meet all of the above criteria and are interested in obtaining work experience with Stewart Marine Design, please e-mail your letter of application and resume with ID photo to

We often receive many applications for the same or overlapping periods. A decision on applications will not be made until at least 4 months before an applicant wishes to start work experience. All applicants for the same or overlapping periods will then be considered and notified of the result.
