Established
in 1978, Stewart
Marine Design Pty Ltd was founded to provide professional naval
architecture and marine surveying services to the commercial marine
industry in the South West Pacific region. We have since grown to
become one of the most well respected naval architecture firms in the
Asia /Pacific region.
Our
location
in Cairns, Queensland has enabled us to
provide services to the large marine industry in the area. This
industry includes the high-speed ferry market, ship building sector,
fishing industry, mooring systems market, floating &
semi-submersible structures market, ship design and ship repair
industry. Clients in the ship building and ship repair sectors have
depended on our dynamic and responsive team for detailed design and
support. From extensive experience gained in such a diverse industry
SMD has earned a reputation of being a leader in design and analysis.
We
support several educational
institutions including the Australian Maritime College and the Webb
Institute in the United States. We actively seek to assist in the
professional development of these college's students by providing
industrial experience for them during the progress of their studies.
Many
of our staff are members of
the Society of Accredited Marine Professionals (SAMP(Q))
and the Society of Naval Architects and
Marine Engineers (SNAME).
These organisations provide up to date
information that keeps us at the forefront of marine design practices
and government regulations.
