LANDING CRAFT
Landing craft are ideally suited to coastal cargo work and for carrying day passengers over shorter distances. They are typically used is less developed areas of the world where port facilities are very limited or nonexistent. They provide a large carrying capacity (dwt) for their size with a relatively shallow draught.
Stewart Marine Design has designed landing craft from 10.0m to 45.0m in length. These ships have mainly been built in steel, however some have been built in aluminium alloy where there were severe draught restrictions or other specialised needs to be met. Particular care is taken in the design of these craft. As well as having to meet the ship owner's transport needs, we ensure they are easy to construction, economical to operate and provide low ongoing maintenance.
